Impact Strategy
To empower smallholder farmers to achieve sustainable growth and profitability by providing integrated access to affordable financing options through mobile micro-savings and high-quality agricultural inputs through our one stop farm service centers.
Theory of change
Our goal is to contribute to improved livelihoods and enhanced economic resilience for smallholder farming households in sub-Saharan Africa.
Steps of the theory of
change.
Agrigate provides smallholder farmers with a trusted and convenient platform to access certified, high-quality crop production inputs, coupled with a simple, secure mobile micro-saving service.
We provide basic agronomic and financial literacy support to build farmer capacity and trust.
Then farmers will be able to plan, save for, and purchase the correct inputs at the optimal time for planting through the unique mobile micro-saving technology by simply dialing *284*34# to start their journey upon registration.
This will lead to improved application of good agricultural practices, resulting in significantly higher crop yields and quality. Concurrently, their consistent savings will build a financial buffer, reducing their dependency on predatory loans and increasing their ability to withstand economic shocks.
Ultimately, the combination of increased farm profitability and improved financial stability will lead to more resilient livelihoods, greater food security, and sustainable economic growth for farming households in Uganda.
Key Impact themes
Nature & Climate Resilience
Strengthening the resilience of natural ecosystems while advancing climate mitigation and adaptation in the face of climate change. This theme promotes nature-based solutions, sustainable land use, use of climate smart crop production inputs that are drought tolerant and high yielding and the protection of biodiversity to safeguard resources, support livelihoods, and help smallholder farmers to adapt to a changing climate.
Smallholder Farmer Livelihoods
Expanding access to the foundations of human wellbeing — food security, education and health, and basic infrastructure — with a focus on underserved and rural smallholder farming communities. It recognizes that agriculture, health, and learning are interconnected and that strengthening them together enables stable and dignified lives.
Inclusive Economies
Building local economic systems where everyone can access fair and meaningful employment, as well as opportunities for entrepreneurship. This theme focuses on removing structural barriers to quality crop production inputs, capital and markets, skills, and networks, ensuring that the economic value created locally is broadly shared within the community.
